Housing Developments - expensive properties

These were built for wealthy communters from the 1950s onwards often along established road links. They are a characteristic on must urban-fringe locations.

 

The top left and top right shows the same rural-urban fringe road on the southern edge of Solihull. The top left image is of greenbelt fields with sheep grazing. The right hand image shows the housing for the wealthy communters.

 

Right image - farm buildings have been left to fall into decline as the area on southern edge of Solihull sees a land use shift from agriculture to residential.
